ALL ABOUT CAROLYN

CF

Dreams, visions and spirituality emerge from the depth of subconscious. Struggling to be free, their release is expressed by the energy of color and form. This is my art.

Using bright acrylic colors and frequently mixed-media, Carolyn brings her own imaginative interpretations of birds, nature, and her love of the sea and sky to the canvas. When Carolyn first arrived on the coast of North Carolina, excited by the mighty ocean and incredible skies, she painted realistic sea shells and birds in surrealistic settings. Her more recent work includes remarkable pop art and an ongoing series using wooden mannequins. She uses multi-level canvases, as well as found and constructed objects.

Her original works have been exhibited at 311 Gallery (Raleigh, NC), Touchstone Gallery (Washington, DC) Target Gallery associated with the Torpedo Factory (Alexandria, VA), Joanne Rose Gallery (Reston, VA), The Gallery at Keller Williams (Wilmington, NC) and Red Bluff Art Gallery (Corning, CA). Other works are included in private collections primarily on the east coast, nationally and internationally. Carolyn holds a Masters Degree in Art from East Carolina University and has been an art educator for more than 20 years.  She teaches privately, as well as through Museum School at Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC.
